Whilst the introductory third establishes the mood and message, the rock ballad feels like Tendertwin's outcry to be taken seriously, to be heard, and to be acknowledged in their plight. The beautifully harmonic and purposefully empty a capella section at the end evokes mystery, an ominous atmosphere, mirroring how the listener should question the certainty of the resolution to the sombre story that Tendertwin has been telling.

A large part of the song's impact comes from the electric and acoustic guitars which are panned and balanced wonderfully, having real clarity throughout the track. The guitars even provide room for the vocals to shine, which themselves sound at once both tightly constricted and vastly spacious. The slight delay and distortion on the lead vocal also help to elevate it and produce a live, intimate sound. 

It is clear that Tendertwin is drawing on inspiration from the many music traditions that they have been exposed to as an Istanbul-born yet frequent transatlantic traveller. It creates a sound that feels altogether European, American and in a sense, other worldly. These qualities makes Tendertwin, and latest single, 'Asking', stand out from array of rock and folk music with a stamp of a unique and confident style.
