Following their heart-felt and vulnerable single ‘Dear Dad’ in January 2024, Irish singer-songwriter and producer, Luke Dunleavy is back with their 2nd single of this year ‘Our Time’. An electronic pop song, the track carries a sentimental message about catching up on lost time with a loved one and life’s time constraints.

We enter the song with a dreamy synth soundscape, slowly rising and drawing us in. The ambience brings a sense of calmness and intrigue, followed by Dunleavy’s smooth vocals and soft pop percussion.

As the chorus hits, the vibe shifts to a punchy pop melody, with a hook reminiscent of artists such as Lauv and Jeremy Zucker. The incorporation of the trap inspired drumbeat brings an uplifting groove to the track, complimenting the passionate lyrics: ‘Until the fire burns out, you’ve got to scream and shout. Tell me all about what you’ve been through’.

‘Our Time’ provides great relatability of reconnecting with someone you care about, and wanting to stay present in the moment while you can. Overall, the song delivers satisfying vocal melodies and a clean pop formula that’s memorable.
