Indie-pop singer-songwriter Alex Harry has released new single, ‘Wild’, entering 2024 with a bang. Having originally written the track for the Eurovision Song Contest, Harry has instead released the single in its own right. 

A classic romantic track, ‘Wild’ explores feelings of unexplainable attraction to a stranger, hinting at a love-at-first-sight romance. As Harry alludes to themselves, the romantic theme is underscored by an 80s vibe reflected in the beat and lyrical style.

 

‘Wild’ creates a sense of suspense, beginning sparsely with just Harry’s vocals. The repetition of the title word throughout the chorus highlights the protagonist’s head-over-heels love, whilst adding a signature pop hook. Halfway through the track, a slow fade reveals a simple melody playing deeper in the mix, making the heartfelt lyrics even more dominant across the bridge and further emphasising the all-consuming feelings portrayed. 

 

The instrumentation throughout the song is typically pop and upbeat, making ultimately making us long for the summer when we can dance and sing along to ‘Wild’.
